What was he doing with his life? Killian felt lost. Like everything that he was meant to be doing had somehow gotten shattered and taken away with the wind. He was trying to get things back to how they were meant to be though. He had even bought a dingy small apartment with what he made from his paycheck. It wasn't all that nice but it was something. And it had two bedrooms. Killian tried his best to make it feel like home. He had even tried his hand at making a nursery for his son...

Killian was going to have a son. Or had a son? He wasn't sure how to phrase it. He knew that Josephine had gone into the hospital. They still weren't on the best terms though and Killian didn't want to push the girl so much that she ran away from him again. He had a habit of pushing her to the brink or fucking up in one way or another. Killian always fucked things up with Josephine. It was time to fix all that though. He needed this girl in his life. Fuck...he loved her more than life. More than anything or anyone that he has ever encountered before. Though, he never really loved anyone besides himself before.

That's when he made the decision that he was going to get his girl back. He would speak until he was blue in the face. Somehow, someway, he would make Josephine understand that he was never going to fuck up again. He was there for her. He was all in. Nothing was going to stop him from making sure that she had the best life. Josephine deserved someone who took care of her and made her happy. Someone who took care of her and her son...Their son. The baby was part of both of them. He loved the child and he hasn't even met him yet. Things were shifting in Killian.

Standing outside of the hospital room door, Killian held the flowers in his hand that he had purchased. He felt like a dumbass standing there. He didn't even know if she would want to see him. It was worth a try though. Raising his hand, he knocked on the closed door before edging it open just a bit and taking a step inside. The boy couldn't bring himself to look up and into the room though. Something about being here was making him nervous. Killian wasn't a nervous guy. This was all new to him. Can I come in...? His voice was low as he stood there. Maybe he should just back out slowly and head home. She probably didn't even want him to be here. What had happened to his confidence?

WHEN THE LIGHT'S TURNING DOWN, THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY HEARD, STRIKE THE MATCH, PLAY IT LOUD, GIVING LOVE TO THE WORLD. WE'LL BE RAISING OUR HANDS, SHINING UP TO THE SKY 'CAUSE WE GOT THE FIRE, FIRE, FIRE.
Josephine had fought him long and hard. She had fought his touch, his pleading and those heavenly eyes that she had grown to obsess over whilst still attending Hogwarts. She had longed for the man that had given her the child, but the moment she had faced that dreaded rejection was the moment she had learned to try and let him go. No matter how hard it had hit her and what little sleep she had gotten over it. The moment she closed that door to her cabin was the very moment she had let him go. Listening as he pleaded for her to open that door again and listen to him once more. To hear him out and come to him- like they were supposed to be. But Josephine couldn't do that. She was a woman who had been committed to a man. A man who had picked up her pieces and assured her all would be well from here on out. That he would help her with the child and love her unconditionally. Something that she had heard seep through the lips of Killian a few times over. But those times had passed.

Looking to that beautiful diamond that had occupied her finger, Jo grinned with happiness. She was soon to be a mother, a wife. She was soon to be something and appreciated! That was what she had wanted. She wanted to be appreciated for the woman that she was. To be acknowledged for her brains and wits. Not just for her beauty and the fact that she was semi easy to get with. But she was going through a stage. A stage that would soon overcome as everyone had told her before. Though, she didn’t believe it as usual. She didn’t want to believe it because she had suffered so much with her family. And now here she was. The door closed in the face of the man that had only weeks ago occupied her doorstep. She had to move on. And she needed to push her focus on her new family. The family that had mattered to her right now. The only thing in her life that had kept her moving.

The sun had fallen quickly behind the rolling hills as she watched it’s rose colored rays radiated through her kitchen window. Those dark brown curls brushing gently across her face as she had sat still in front of the open window. Taking in the cool smell of autumn. Jo was truly at peace. She was at peace with herself and with her life. This was where she had longed to be- this was where she had needed to be. ”Oomph.” The small kicks of her son had come suddenly. But that wasn’t the only thing that had followed. Sharp pains maneuvered throughout her lower region causing her to shift uncomfortably. Her heart racing at the thought of this being it. ”You stay in the-” Again, a blow to the cervix. Her heart rate increasing once more. This had to have been it. This pain that she was feeling was only increasing by the moments. Every three minutes it would hit her.

James, she had to call for James.

But she couldn’t even begin to move- she couldn’t apparate there and then to the Hospital. The contractions were coming in too close. Did she wish to have a Ministry child? Grabbing her wand, Jo held her stomach and made her way to St. Mungo’s Delivery floor. There she had stood, small beads of sweat rippling from her forehead. ”I need to be seen.” Without hesitation, the healers hurried in her direction and escorted her to one of their delivery rooms. ’Ma’am, deep breaths alright? It will help with the unsettling pain you’re currently feeling.” But Jo didn’t want deep breaths. Jo wanted James, she wanted her fiance there and she needed comfort. Anything at that point. ”My fiance..” she breathed inbetween a massive contraction. ”James Potter… I need him here… Please.” Josephine couldn’t do it without James. She couldn’t be without him near her- without him being able to see and hold his son.

’We’re on it, Miss.”

The epidural had somewhat kicked in as the healers scrambled around the room to get Josephine’s needs filled immediately. The sounds of footsteps running across the floor- voices ringing through her mind. Still no James. It was about time that she had him and she was bound to do this by herself. As usual. Her mother wasn’t there, her father wasn’t there, her brother… no one. She was alone. But she couldn’t really think about them right now. She couldn’t think about them at all. With the contractions still seeping their way through the medicine, she couldn’t keep still. Her mind scattering again as she held onto the side of the bed. Sweat beads trickling down her face.

’Can I come in?’

It was as if the pain had settled in that moment and she was more than focused on the man that had come into the room. It wasn’t her father nor brother… no was it James. ”Killian…” Jo breathed. The tears now slowly trickling from the corners of her eyes. As much as she wished to blame it on the pain.. She couldn’t. She just couldn’t. ”Miss. Ackerley, would you like us to escort Mr. Flint ou-’ ”No!” she snapped, chest rising and falling as she couldn’t stop staring at the man that had gotten her into this. The man that she loved. ”I-” she winced tossing her head back over the pain. ”I nee-need him!” With all of her effort, Jo held out her hand. Her trembling hand. She didn’t wish to argue, she didn’t wish to lash out on him… she just needed Killian there.

Killian didn't know what to expect when he walked into the hospital room. What he didn't expect was for Josephine to be in the throws of labor. Exposed and vulnerable. In pain. That was not something that he wanted to see. Then again, now that he was faced with it, this wasn't something that he wanted to miss, either. The birth of their son. The little boy entering into the world...That was something that he should be there for. If he had missed it, it would likely have haunted him forever.

After he had announced himself, the nurses were in front of him, blocking his way to his girl. Killian would have understood if she didn't want him there. Merlin knows that Killian had fucked up time and time again and if she was finally done with him, it would have made sense. But that wasn't true...his eyes flashing up from their place on the floor when her voice said his name. It was a low and pained calling. Killian's teeth dug into his lower lip as he watched the tears form and cascade down her cheeks.

If there was anything he could do to take Jo out of the pain of the moment and place it on himself, he would do it in a heartbeat. He had faced enough pain in his life. He had let the Elite give him their best and hid in the shadows while he recovered and nursed his pride. He had only stayed away to keep his family safe...Killian had only joined so that Cian would not fall further to the whims of the Elite. His other siblings needed to be kept safe and far away from the evil plans. And even if they had fallen, Killian wasn't sure if they were all gone. So he had stayed away. But something called him to Josephine now and it had become crystal clear. They needed to be together now.

I need him.

That was all it took for Killian to rush forward. For him to take Jo's reached out hand and enveloped it in his own. I'm here. He was ready to fight the nurses tooth and nail to be able to stay in the room with her. He would fight James if that was what it would take. He was meant to be here. Where was James anyways? If that little fucker had loved Jo so much, he would have been here while she forced a child into this world. But he was nowhere in sight. Killian was okay with that though. He would ease her pain in anyway that he could. He was the one who was meant to be by her side.

What....what can I do? What do you need? This wasn't a situation that he had ever encountered before. He could take blood and screaming. Pain and agony. But not for her. Never for her. This woman was not meant to be in pain. His eyes looked pleadingly down at her, hoping for someway to take away the pain that was lacing her body. I'm here, I love you. He just continued talking, rubbing his finger back and forth against the back of her hand. trying to find some way of comfort.

The pain was altogether overwhelming and unbearable. As if her entire lower half was about to explode beneath her. She just couldn’t move in any direction to find relief. She couldn’t shift, she couldn’t sit up, she couldn’t do anything. And here she was about to give birth to her first child. Her son. A son that Killian had blessed her with regardless of their past and what had happened. She wasnt going to be like her mother and she sure as hell wasn’t going to turn into her father either. Josephine was in it for her child. The pain was something that had just so happen to come with the love she had felt for him. Wanting him in her life- to hold him, love him, call him her own. Sure she didn’t figured her life to turn around for the better back when, but she was wrong. So wrong.

Sure, James had picked up the pieces with her and had given her reason to pick herself back up and move forward- but Killian never left her mind. Ever. No matter the situation, the times she had made loved with James, all she could think about was Killian. Where was he? Was he okay? Would he return to her someday? And he had. He had on a night that was a bit of a mess for her. Making his way to that usual cabin in which they had first found one another. Where they had fallen for one another on that old couch her grandparents had handed down to her mother and father. His hands exploring her body, her hands returning the same action. It was then that she had realized just how much she had loved him. Just how much she had cared for him. Sure she was seeing Albus at the time, but she allowed Kilian to take something so sacred to her. Something she was willing to hand over to him.

Her innocence.

And she had enjoyed every moment of it. But to see his face that night after what had happened, there was no way she could handle him nor herself. Having that door separate them was torture enough. All she wanted to do was toss that damn door back and take him in her arms. To let him feel her swollen stomach and experience the life that she had been carrying. The life that he had created. But James. James had been supporting her, loving her and promising her a future. A future she wasn’t so certain about. Though, everything had seemed to change the very second Killian had come through that door. He was alive… He was alive! Jo wanted to reach out to him so bad. She wanted to hold him again, kiss him, everything. But she could barely even stand herself.

Killian!!” she sobbed as he grabbed her hand. The other free one resting against the side of his face. ”Killian.. You’re here… y-you’re here!” she cried again. ”You.. You’re all I need!” She spoke through gritted teeth as she tossed her head back. The contractions were hitting harder this round causing Josephine’s legs to quiver. Her mother was right. Child birth was nothing easily managed… and she had figured herself to be taking it like a master champ. ’Miss. Ackerely, if you could just take in a few deep breaths please! You’re at the full, we just need you to breathe.’ It was all easier said than done. ”O-Okay.” she nodded, taking in deep breaths and she looked over to the man that she had longed for. The man that had held her hand in his. Where it had belonged. ’You’re doing great, okay.’ The nurse nodded, patting her leg. Looking up to Killian, she smiled. ”I-I Love you too!” she squeezed his hand. ”Please don’tt leavee me again.”

The pain was coming on much stronger than she had imagined this round. The pressure building as one of the healers stepped before her, parting her legs as they hoisted them back as far as they could. ’We see hair, Miss Ackerley! Just a couple good pushes!’ Jo nodded with a broken smile on her face. She was excited, scared, in pain- everything all at once. It was an experience for the books that was for sure. With another long push she could feel the release… but the pain was far too much. In seconds the monitors attached to her arms begun to spiral out of control. Her chest burning as she clutched onto Killian’s hand. ’Miss Ackerley? Miss Ackerley!!!’ With a loud squeal coming from her final push… Josephine’s chest had stopped rising and falling. Everything around her slowly fading. Voices echoing around her but she could see.. No one. ”My… b..ba...by.”

As Josephine had laid on that table, Healers scrambled around the table removing the chords from her body as they had pushed Killian to the side. Their newborn son already cut and moved to the nursery. ’We have to hurry!! She is barely breathing!!!’ The young healer squealed as she slipped her hands behind Jo’s head. ’She’s hemorrhaging! We have to stop the bleeding!’ After coming through so many obstacles in life with Killian, they had finally found one another again. After everything they had been through... Josephine was barely hanging out. The blood loss becoming too much.... but Killian.. her child..

It seemed like everything was going perfectly. The healers coached Josephine along as Killian sat there, holding her hand, stoking her forehead. The man was at an absolute loss at what to do in this time. Hell, he was practically a kid. There was no way that he was prepared for this moment but here they were. And Killian wouldn't have it any other way.I'm not going anywhere. I promise. I'm right here. Killian smiled down at her, trying to remain strong while she needed him. But her smile faltered. Something was wrong. Something was terribly wrong.

The room erupted into chaos around him. Killian didn't know what was going on. The baby was whisked away in a hurry. He had barely caught a glance of the child's face before he was out of the room. The nurses were up in a tizzy around him. They were scrambling, shouting about Josephine not breathing...That she's bleeding. She's hemorrhaging. None of the nurses would look at him though. They didn't take a moment to say a word to him about what was going on to Jo. He was loosing her and there was nothing he could do to get her back.

Killian knew that Josephine would want him to go with the child and not leave the boy's side but that wasn't even an option for the Flint. There was no way he was ever leaving her side again. Especially not when she needed him there the most. But he couldn't even hold her hand any longer. They had shoved him away so he was standing on the outskirts of the room. Only able to look on in horror as his life slipped through his fingers. Don't let her fucking die! Do something! But they were doing something. Killian couldn't help the anger that bubbled up through his pain and worry. One of the male healers rushed over to him, grabbing him by the shoulders, trying to push him out of the room. Sir...We need you to step out so we can do our job. His eyes practically popped out of his head. There was no way he was leaving the room. They weren't making him go. You're fucking out of your mind if you think I'm leaving this room. It was all Killian could do to not punch the man in the face.

Killian had fucked up with Josephine time and time again. He had fucked other females while they were together. He had not cared for Josephine's feelings in the slightest. All he had cared about was getting his needs met. But somewhere along the way he had fallen for her. The feelings creeping into his heart, bubbling into something that would not go away. The feelings festered, turning into the love he held now. No matter how much pain had came up between them, Killian wouldn't change any of it. Everything that happened between them had gotten them to where they were. Had brought them together. But now there was this...And Killian didn't know how to handle this.

Shoving the man's hands off of his shoulders, Killian put his hands up, trying to show the healer that he wouldn't get in the way. That he would stay back and away from them while they were working. Jo...Come on.... It felt like a rock had formed in his throat as he tried to speak. He had just told her that he wasn't going anywhere. She wasn't allowed to leave him. If either of them needed the other, it was Killian. She was the one who brought him down to earth and made him sane. She made sure that he didn't turn into a monster. Don't leave me, Jo... His words were to himself as he raked his hands through his hair and collapsed onto his knees, tears forming in his eyes. This couldn't be the end of them. They were just getting better.

The doctors had given it their all- rushing, running up and down those halls, calling for more staff. They were trying to do this for the poor innocent girl that had laid on that be clinging to life. No one was sure how it had come to this point. No one was positive how this could have happened at all. They were taking every necessary precaution, her pregnancy was fine and dandy as was the labor. Nurse after nurse floored on past as they were quick to bring in more helping hands, trying to find where she could have been hemorrhaging.

One of the healers glanced over to Killian who had refused to leave her side. Who had refused to be away from her in this time of need. And they didn't blame him. Or, at least, she didn’t blame him. ’Mr. Flint, please. We understand your level of concern for her. But we have to get this in control… or she can die.’ Moments passed as Josephine had laid there. Healer's finally figuring the root of their problem. A Tear in the Cervix. The healer grabbed at Killian’s shoulder as a few stepped before him. No words were exchanged with him as they continued to pull Josephine’s bed away. A gentle squeeze being given. ’She’ll be alright, Mr. Flint. She’s a strong one from what we have all seen. And with this quick fix she will be back on her feet in no time.”

Or so they had all hoped.

Hours had soon passed leading into a succesful find and mend. The tear in the cervix being located as they had quickly patched it up and tossed in a few quarts of blood. Anything to bring her levels up and get her to open those eyes. Though afterwards, she was transported to a highly monitored room. Resting easy before a large and beautiful window with a birds eye view of the lake behind the Hospital. The room had been left empty with no squandering Halers to become a bothersome. Just Jo.

The loud beeping noise had come into play- her heart racing as those sleepless eyes had awoken from the slumber that she had been placed in. Chords draping from her arms as she was slow to glance around. She was alive! Sore, but alive nonetheless. Her body was still soaring with pain as she inhaled deeply to try and control it. Footsteps approached causing Josephine to look in the direction of her doorway. A petite little old woman shuffled inside dressed in the classic healers uniform. She was adorable. Grabbing at Josephine’s hand, the woman held it closely before explaining her surroundings. ’They have you on a drip, my dear, for your pain. It is only a 10 minute drip so you can only do so once every ten minutes understood?’ Josephine nodded. ’And your son is safe, sound and resting in the arms of our Maternity staff until we feel you are strong enough. You did loose quite a bit of blood.

With all of that being said, the woman continued on her way out leaving Josephine to be alone. Killian… where was Killian?! Those bright eyes wandered, her heart racing. Where was he?! Was she dreaming of him being there? Was that part of the hallucinations thank to her blood loss?
